Employment at ILEG
ILEG’s internship program is designed to provide an opportunity for students undertaking environment and law courses to get a hands-on experience in research and project implementation as part of their learning experience. The goals and objectives of the internship programme are:

To create an opportunity for students who have just finished their studies and/or those in the process of completing to familiarise themselves with the working environment and gain practical experience

To assist ILEG in its effort and vision of capacity building by empowering young people to gain experience and prepare themselves for the labour market

To assist in the development of young professionals committed to the ideals of good environmental governance.
The admission process for internship
Students interested in taking up an internship at ILEG should write an application letter indicating the type of internship they wish to undertake, the period for internship, their field of study and university or institution of learning and why they want to undertake the internship. The application letter should be sent to ILEG attention, Director Programmes and include an updated CV and a supporting letter from their institution of learning
Period of Internship
Unless there is a prior arrangement, ILEG internships run for a period three months. However, the management reserves the right to terminate an internship before the completion of the three month period or to extend the internship as deemed appropriate. A research internship will depend on prior arrangements and agreement with the institution.
International interns shall organise her/his own work-permit for Kenya where required and unless otherwise arranged, interns at ILEG will be expected to meet their own expenses during the duration of the internship.
