Historical Development
ILEG was established in 2001, initially, as a programme of the Kenya Land Alliance, which is an umbrella network of civil society organizations and individuals committed to effective advocacy for the reform of policies and laws governing land in Kenya. ILEG was formally registered as Trust under the laws of Kenya in 2002 thereby acquiring capacity to carry out its activities independently as a distinct legal entity.
